Hawaii wins LLWS

SPECIAL TO ESPN.COM

Aug. 29, 2005 | Dick's Stock Watch provides a fast-glance review of the past week in the world of sports, charting whose stock is up and whose is down …

LLWS champs — Congratulations to the Little League World Series champions from Hawaii. They came back from a 6-3 deficit in the sixth inning to beat Curacao 7-6 in the world championship game on a walk-off homer in the seventh.

Tampa Bay Devil Rays — The Devil Rays swept the Angels. Why isn't Jonny Gomes getting consideration for AL Rookie of the Year?

Tony La Russa — La Russa moved past Sparky Anderson into third place on the managerial all-time win list.

Oakland Athletics — The A's have won five in a row, outscoring opponents 46-10 during that streak. Oakland is in first place in the AL West.

Bartolo Colon — Colon is 6-0 in his last seven starts and 17-6 overall. The Angels' starter should get some Cy Young consideration.

Dwight Gooden — "Doc" Gooden, the 1985 Cy Young winner with the Mets, has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. Hopefully he will get his life back in order.

L'Equipe — I have a message for L'Equipe, the French newspaper that keeps taking shots at Lance Armstrong: Enough already! He won his seven Tour de France titles and passed close to 100 drug tests. Enough with the witch hunt already.

L.A. Angels of Anaheim — The Angels were swept by the Devil Rays and have gone from first in the AL West to second in the wild-card hunt.

Curt Schilling — Schilling and the Boston Red Sox got knocked around by the Kansas City Royals in his first start in several months.

Maurice Clarett — The running back isn't going to make the Denver Broncos.

Kenny Rogers — Rogers hasn't won a game since July 16, going 0-3 with an ERA over 5 in his last six starts.
