Spurs in command

SPECIAL TO ESPN.COM

May 31, 2005 | Dick's Stock Watch provides a fast-glance review of the past week in the world of sports, charting whose stock is up and whose is down …

Tim Duncan – Duncan had 33 points, 15 rebounds and hit all 15 of his free-throw attempts as the Spurs won their third straight against the Suns on Saturday night. The Suns won Monday, though, cutting the Spurs' series lead to 3-1.

Dan Wheldon – Wheldon started the Indy 500 in 16th position, but he found his way to the winner's circle. Danica Patrick started fourth, fell back to 16th but rallied and actually led at one point, finishing fourth overall.

Texas Rangers – The Rangers have won eight straight games; manager Buck Showalter's team is on a roll.

Jake Peavy – The San Diego Padres' starter is 5-0 with a 2.00 ERA, 73 strikeouts and just 12 walks this season.

Andy Roddick – Roddick lost in the second round of the French Open, blowing a two-set lead. American tennis is really down right now (at least on clay).

Venus Williams – Venus also struggled early in the French, losing to a 15-year-old.

Oakland Athletics – The A's were swept by Cleveland and are 4-20 in their past 24 games.
