McFarlin, Fraser lead Day 4 PTPers

SPECIAL TO ESPN.COM

March 20, 2005 | ESPN.com's NCAA Tournament coverage

Tourney PTPers — Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3

PLAYERS OF THE DAY: Ivan McFarlin, Oklahoma State and Jason Fraser, Villanova
McFarlin did not want his career to end, so the senior scored 31 points (10-13 FG, 11-12 FT) in a win over Southern Illinois

Fraser, who has been injury-plagued throughout his career, scored 21 points while grabbing 15 rebounds in a win over Florida.

TEAM OF THE DAY: North Carolina
The Tar Heels are the only team to win each of its two tournament games by 20-plus points, and the only club to score 90 or more in each tourney outing so far.

Roy Williams' club was impressive in pulling away from a hungry Iowa State squad.

COACH OF THE DAY: Rick Pitino, Louisville
Pitino was disappointed that his team was given a No. 4 seed. The Cardinals took it out on Georgia Tech, never allowing the Yellow Jackets into the game in a 76-56 blowout.

SHOCK OF THE DAY: N.C. State over UConn
The Wolfpack finished 7th in the ACC and was a No. 10 seed, playing the defending national champions in New England.

Herb Sendek's squad got the job done, 65-62.
