STOCK UP: Notre Dame defeats Michigan
Notre Dame -- After losing their season opener 20-17 to BYU, the Irish got a big 28-20 upset win over then-No. 7 Michigan. Freshman running back Darius Walker had an outstanding game (115 yards on 31 carries plus and two touchdowns).

Three non-BCS schools -- Fresno State, Southern Mississippi, Troy proved a lot by beating Big 12 opponents. There are a lot of good non-BCS schools out there.
Daunte Culpepper -- The Minnesota Vikings quarterback threw five touchdown passes, including a pair to Randy Moss in a win over the Cowboys.
Roger Federer -- Federer became the first player in 16 years to win three Grand Slams in one year. He's the first player in the Open era to win his first four Grand Slam singles finals.
Orlando Hernandez -- El Duque is now 8-0 as a starter since rejoining the New York Yankees. Where would the Bronx Bombers be without him?
STOCK DOWN: Big 12 football has tough day
Big 12 football -- Kansas State and Nebraska lost at home while Missouri lost at Troy.
Baltimore Ravens -- The Ravens totaled three points in a loss to the Cleveland Browns.
Tennis umpire -- What happened with the chair umpire in the Serena Williams-Jennifer Capriati match last week? Serena got several bad calls in her loss to Capriati.
American tennis -- No American men reached the U.S. Open semis for the first time since 1986. No American women reached the Open final.
