STOCK UP: Michael Phelps finishes with a record eight medals.
Michael Phelps -- He totaled eight medals -- including six gold medals -- which tied a record for one Olympics. He showed a lot of class by giving up his spot on the final relay team to Ian Crocker.

Paul Hamm -- He became the first American to win the gymnastics all-around gold medal, though there was a scoring controversy.

U.S. women's basketball and softball teams -- Both teams have been very impressive during their run in Athens. The softball team gave up just one run (51-1 margin) in winning the gold medal.

Boston Red Sox -- The Red Sox are now just 5 ½ games behind the Yanks and have been red hot.

Anaheim Angels -- The Angels have won five in a row to hang in the playoff hunt.

Justin Gatlin -- The 23-year old came out of nowhere to win the 100 meters at the Olympics.

STOCK DOWN: Team USA still sinking.
U.S. men's hoops team -- The team is just 3-2, but there is still time for them to win the gold medal.

New York Yankees -- The Yankees were swept at home by the Angels and manager Joe Torre's team totaled four runs in the three losses.

Cleveland Indians -- The Indians have fallen apart with seven consecutive losses. What has happened to manager Eric Wedge's team?

Roger Federer, Andy Roddick and Venus Williams -- All three lost in the Olympic tennis tournament before the quarterfinals.
