STOCK UP: Selection committee solid overall
NCAA Tournament selection committee -- Overall, the selection committee did a very good job, though Utah State (25-3) has a gripe about getting left out and Pittsburgh (the Big East regular-season champs) got a raw deal as a No. 3 seed possibly facing a second-round game vs. Wisconsin in Milwaukee. I can understand giving St. Joe's a No. 1 seed for its undefeated regular season.

Maryland basketball -- The Terps won the ACC championship with a great comeback over Duke. The Terps beat the Nos. 1, 2 and 3 seeds to win the ACC title. What a performance by John Gilchrist, as coach Gary Williams' team would never say die.

NBA star Tracy McGrady -- The Orlando Magic superstar scored 62 points in a game last week. He also said he would score 70 sometime before his career was over.

Boxer Winky Wright -- Wright defeated Shane Mosley in a unanimous decision to win the unified 154-pound championship.

NHL star Darren McCarty -- McCarty plays for the Detroit Red Wings, and his charity work really impressed me when I gave a speech in the Detroit area last week. McCarty is trying to raise money to defeat multiple myeloma, the disease which took the life of his father.

QB Drew Henson -- Henson will be a star quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys and coach Bill Parcells. He's the real deal, baby!

STOCK DOWN: Terrell Owens needs to move on
WR Terrell Owens -- The superstar wide receiver should just shut up, accept that the San Francisco 49ers have traded him, and play for the Baltimore Ravens already.

Boxer Felix Trinidad -- Trinidad had signed a multimillion dollar deal to fight Shane Mosley, but that deal is worthless since Mosley lost to Winky Wright.

NHL star Todd Bertuzzi -- His cheap shot damaged the image of the NHL again and, what's far worse, broke the neck of Steve Moore of the Colorado Avalanche. Bertuzzi plays for the Vancouver Canucks.
