Hawks, Cardinal undefeated

SPECIAL TO ESPN.COM

Feb. 23, 2004 | Dick's Stock Watch provides a fast-glance review of the past week in the world of sports, charting whose stock is up and whose is down...

St. Joe's and Stanford -- The Hawks and Cardinals are still unbeaten. Stanford's Josh Childress scored 36 points in the Cardinals' win over USC, while the Hawks were impressive against Temple. Anyone who blasts these schools and derides their conference should know going undefeated in any league is difficult. Coaches Mike Montgomery and Phil Martelli are the stars of stars in the coaching profession.

New Jersey Nets -- They just keep on winning, baby! They're rolling along under "interim" coach Lawrence Frank with 12 consecutive wins under his helm and 13 consecutive overall.

Dwyane Wade --The Miami Heat rookie is averaging 27 ppg in his past four games -- all Heat wins. Miami opened the season with seven straight losses, but has played .500 ball since. If they keep it up, coach Stan Van Gundy's team could steal the eighth playoff spot in the weak Eastern Conference.

Minnesota Timberwolves -- The Timberwolves have won five of their past six and sit at 40-16. I believe Minnesota and Indiana could meet in the finals.

Matt Rogers -- Who is he? The former University of Washington lineman has moved on to the final 12 in American Idol, baby! Take that, Simon Cowell!

Christian Drejer -- He abandoned his Florida teammates and sent a terrible message by taking the cash and running. Drejer decided to play as a professional in Spain in the middle of Florida's season! The Gators had to be disappointed, but coach Billy Donovan's team bounced back with a 15-point win over Mississippi.

John Henry -- I'm tired of the Boston Red Sox owner complaining about the New York Yankees and the salary-cap structure. He has sour grapes because the Yankees traded for A-Rod, but he tried to do the same thing a month ago and his franchise helped approve the current system.

Colorado football -- What a mess and a terrible situation all the way around as the sex scandal regarding recruits continues to be investigated.

Pittsburgh Penguins -- The last time they won was Jan. 12 -- 18 games ago.
