STOCK UP: Ortiz, Capriati, Ali, U.S. gymnastics
Russ Ortiz -- The Atlanta Braves' starter is now 18-5 -- and the first to 18 wins this season -- after a win over Colorado on Sunday. Atlanta is dominating without Tom Glavine and Kevin Millwood, and Ortiz never gets enough credit.
Jennifer Capriati -- Capriati enters the U.S. Open on a hot streak after winning the Pilot Pen tournament in Connecticut. She beat Lindsay Davenport and Amelie Mauresmo along the way. Can Capriati make a run now that the Williams sisters are out of the U. S. Open?
Laila Ali -- Laila dominated against Christy Martin in their fight Saturday night in Mississippi. Ali scored a fourth-round TKO.
U.S. gymnastics -- The women's team, despite a number of injuries, won the all-around championship at the Worlds. Paul Hamm won the men's individual all-around, the first American to do that.
STOCK DOWN: Jets, Pujols, Mariners, Marlins
New York Jets -- With QB Chad Pennington expected to be out 12 weeks due to a fractured left wrist, the Jets are hurting. Vinny Testaverde, at age 40, will have the pressure on him at quarterback.
Albert Pujols -- After a 30-game hit streak, the St Louis Cardinals' slugger is 0-for-12 in his past three games. He's human after all, baby!
Seattle Mariners -- The Mariners have struggled lately ... here comes Oakland, even without Mark Mulder.
Florida Marlins -- Despite a win Sunday, the Marlins are 1-5 in their past six games.
