STOCK UP: Weir, Syracuse, UConn, Royals, Wells
Golfer Mike Weir -- Weir became the first Canadian to win The Masters, earning his first career major. Everyone expected Tiger Woods or Phil Mickelson to win, but in the end it was Weir who gutted it out, beating Len Mattiace in the first hole of a sudden-death playoff. Weir shot a 68 in the final round under pressure, capturing the Green Jacket.

Coach Jim Boeheim and Syracuse men's hoop -- The Orangemen won a national championship despite being unranked in the coaches poll until February. Diaper dandy Carmelo Anthony was super, scintillating and sensational as Syrcause cut down the nets in New Orleans. Boeheim had been to the title game twice before -- once in New Orleans (1987) -- and came through in the Big Easy this time.

Coach Geno Auriemma and Connecticut women's hoop -- UConn went back-to-back women's titles, winning the national championship by beating Tennessee. Junior Diana Taurasi, the national player of the year, was awesome with a capital A! Connecticut won despite losing four seniors to graduation last year who were first-round picks in the 2002 WNBA draft.

Kansas City Royals -- The Royals lost 100 games last season, but now manager Tony Pena's team is 9-1. One key has been Mike McDougall out of the bullpen. He has been sensational so far.

David Wells -- The New York Yankees starter has overcome the controversy of his book, which plagued him during spring training. Now he's on fire, pitching a complete game Thursday, throwing under 100 pitches.

STOCK DOWN: Wizards, Knicks, Unit, Pedro, Red Wings, Tigers
Washington Wizards -- It's sad to see that Michael Jordan's final season will end without a trip to the playoffs. The Wizards have been a disappointment.

New York Knicks -- Speaking of disappointment, the Knicks missed the playoffs for back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1986 and '87. Then Ricky Pitino came in and led them to the postseason.

Randy Johnson and Pedro Martinez -- Each ace gave up 10 runs in his latest start. What's going on with these guys?

Detroit Red Wings -- The defending Stanley Cup champions are down 0-2 to the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. The Red Wings have been stopped by goalie Jean Sebastian Giguere.

Detroit Tigers -- The Tigers are now 1-10. Tigers executive Dave Dombrowski is a good guy who deserves better. Dombrowski also overachieved, marrying former ESPN anchor Karie Ross. If Pam Anderson is a 10, Karie is a 15!
