Dick's Stock Watch identifies whose stock is up and whose is down over the past week across the world of sports.
STOCK UP: J.J. Redick and Duke, Tubby Smith and Kentucky, Meg Mallon
J.J. Redick and Duke -- How about the performance by J. J. Redick of Duke! The atmosphere at the ACC Championship was incredible. Greensboro Coliseum was rocking and rolling as Duke rallied from a 15-point deficit to win the title over NC State. Redick scored 23 points in the second half, hitting big shot after big shot. What an incredible performance for the freshman.
Tubby Smith and Kentucky -- Kentucky has now won 23 straight games, including the SEC tournament championship over Mississippi State. Tubby Smith's team is the favorite to win it all and my pick for national Coach of the Year has done an incredible job. To go unbeaten in league play throughout the regular season, and win the SEC tournament, I hope people in Kentucky can give Tubby some love, man!
Meg Mallon -- Meg Mallon was incredibly hot last week, shooting a 60 on the LPGA tour.
STOCK DOWN: Spring training brawls, Athletics, Rangers
Baseball fights -- What's up with all of these spring training brawls? Guillermo Mota, are you kidding me with the incident with Mike Piazza? Enough of these fights, guys. Just go and play ball.
Oakland A's -- I was surpised to hear the Oakland Athletics will not try to re-sign MVP shortstop Miguel Tejada. The guy is so underrated. When you think of guys like A-Rod and Derek Jeter, Tejada is up in the mix of premier AL shortstops. Hey, George Steinbrenner, take out your wallet and spend some more to get Tejada and make him an outfielder, baby!
New York Rangers -- I don't know much about hockey, but the New York Rangers are on the verge of missing the playoffs again. With that payroll, that is an absolute joke.
