Tiger is still on the prowl

SPECIAL TO ESPN.COM

March 3
Dick's Stock Watch identifies whose stock is up and whose is down over the past week across the world of sports.

Tiger Woods -- Every time Tiger plays in a tournament, his stock goes up. He won the Accenture Match Play tournament for the first time in his career, beating David Toms in the final.

Jim Phelan -- Jim Phelan enjoyed a great coaching career. I loved seeing him wearing that bow tie! In fact, I wore one when I broadcast Saturday's Kansas-Oklahoma State game with my Brent Musberger. Phelan closed his career as a winner, as Mount St. Mary's beat Central Connecticut State. He retires with 830 wins, behind only Dean Smith and Adolph Rupp.

Minnesota Timberwolves -- The Minnesota Timberwolves have been on fire, winning seven in a row. Kevin Garnett has 50 double-doubles and has to be considered a legitimate MVP candidate.

Philadelphia 76ers -- The Sixers also have been hot, winning nine in a row after beating Denver on Sunday night.

Roy Jones Jr. -- Roy Jones Jr. is the best boxer, pound-for-pound, in the world today. It didn't matter that John Ruiz had a 33-pound advantage at the weigh-in. Jones dominated to win a share of the heavyweight title, gaining a unanimous decision in Las Vegas.

Los Angeles Clippers -- When will the Los Angeles Clippers turn it around? This franchise added young talent, yet they can't seem to get it together and build a winner.

Ernie Els -- Ernie Els was supposed to challenge Tiger. What happened to the Big Easy at the match play event? Els lost in the first round!

Boston Bruins -- The Boston Bruins have been in Struggle City lately. I follow the standings, and the Bruins haven't won in eight straight games.

Detroit Pistons -- The Pistons were hot early, but it has been rough lately for coach Rick Carlisle and company. They have dropped seven in a row, including a five-game road trip.
