Love those Bucs, baby!

Dick's Stock Watch identifies whose stock is up and whose is down over the past week across the world of sports.

Buccaneers -- The Tampa Bay Bucs are going to the Super Bowl! I love the way Jon Gruden's team shut down Donovan McNabb and the Eagles. It was an unbelievable performance on offense and defense. Ronde Barber was sensational.

UConn women's hoops -- Geno Auriemma's Connecticut team came through and broke Louisiana Tech's record for consecutive wins. UConn. is now at 55. Diana Taurasi has been sensational this season.

Steve Francis -- What about the performance by Steve Francis on Friday night? Yao Ming and Shaq had center stage, but it was Francis, known as Stevie Franchise, who put up 44 big points on the board as the Rockets beat the Lakers in overtime.

Maryland Terrapins -- Give Gary Williams and Maryland credit for a solid second half in handing Duke its first "L" of the season on Saturday at the new Comcast Center. Drew Nicholas and company came through. By the way, that is a sensational new arena!

San Francisco 49ers -- Shame on the Niners owner John York and the team's front office for firing Steve Mariucci. The guy was a proven winner. And shame on Mariucci for not taking the Tampa Bay Bucs job or the Notre Dame opening when they were available last year.

Jennifer Capriati -- I know that Jennifer Capriati had problems going into the Australian Open, but it was Shock City to lose in the first round to a player ranked 98th in the world!

Michigan State Spartans -- What has happened to Tom Izzo's Michigan State Spartans? One of the favorites in the Big Ten going into the season, the Spartans have dropped five of the last six games.

UCLA Bruins -- It's sad to see what has happened out at UCLA. It will be a miracle for Steve Lavin to save his job now. The Bruins suffered their worst loss ever at Pauley Pavilion, falling to Arizona by 35 points. It seems like the players haven't committed to doing the things it takes to be successful.
