STOCK UP: Ohio State, Jets, Falcons, Nets, UConn women's hoop, USC

Ohio State football captured the national championship by beating Miami 31-24 in the Fiesta Bowl in double overtime. I've heard some people question the Buckeyes, but let me tell you, they went through 14 games without suffering a loss, the only Division I-A team to say that. Coach Jim Tressel did a great job of finding ways to win games by utilizing his team's strengths.

The New York Jets and Atlanta Falcons were impressive in wild-card wins on Saturday. Chad Pennington and the Jets blasted the Colts, while Michael Vick certainly wasn't intimidated at Lambeau Field vs. the Packers.

Jason Kidd and the New Jersey Nets have run off nine straight wins. Coach Byron Scott's team has been hot, and Dikembe Mutombo has been out injured. Watch out for the Nets.

Nine straight wins is nothing compared to coach Geno Auriemma and the Connecticut women's basketball team. Their win streak is up to 51 games following a thrilling win Saturday over coach Pat Summitt's Tennessee Vols. Diana Taurasi hit the game-tying shot to send the contest into overtime, and she came through in OT as well, scoring 25 big points overall.

USC football closed the season with eight straight wins, including an impressive victory over Iowa in the Orange Bowl.

STOCK DOWN: Packers, Colts, Tennessee, Artest
The Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts certainly looked bad in their losses on Saturday. The Packers lost a playoff game at Lambeau Field for the first time.

Tennessee football ... did the Volunteers think I didn't notice? The Vols scored just three points in a 30-3 blowout loss to Maryland in the Peach Bowl.

Ron Artest of the Indiana Pacers has enjoyed a good season, but he certainly hurt his team with a three-game suspension. Artest earned the punishment by throwing a television monitor and TV camera after Indiana's loss to the Knicks on Friday.
