Andre Miller deal to help Clips

SPECIAL TO ESPN.COM

Aug. 5
Dick's Stock Watch identifies whose stock is up and whose is down over the past week across the world of sports.

I give a lot of credit to the Los Angeles Clippers for acquiring Andre Miller from the Cleveland Cavaliers. He led the NBA in assists last season and he should distribute the rock for the Clippers. His addition should help them make a run at the playoffs after falling short last season.

The Minnesota Twins keep on playing hard and winning games, running away in the AL Central. Ron Gardenhire is my choice for AL Manager of the Year.

Anyone watching the Pro Football Hall of Fame ceremony had to shed a tear when Jim Kelly was talking about his ill son. Kelly was such a class act as the quarterback of the Buffalo Bills.

Luis Gonzalez has been swinging a hot bat for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Arizona has been pulling away in the NL West.

The New York Mets dropped four straight games at home, including a tough one in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday. Closer Armando Benitez gave up a solo home run to Craig Counsell, the Golden Domer, in the ninth inning to tie the score. It's difficult to lose four straight and then face the left-hander, Mr. Randy Johnson.

Lleyton Hewitt is the No. 1 men's tennis player in the world, but he couldn't get past the first round in Toronto last week.

I pay a lot of money for my season tickets for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and I'm getting tired of hearing Warren Sapp complaining about things. Recently he took a shot at Michael Strahan, saying his sack record should have an asterisk. Mr. Strahan said it well when he claimed that Sapp should get past the first round of the playoffs before he talks.
