Tiger takes pressure by tail

SPECIAL TO ESPN.COM

April 15
Dick's Stock Watch identifies whose stock is up and whose is down over the past week across the world of sports.

Tiger Woods has had an incredible run, winning seven majors by the age of 26 -- and now his third green jacket at The Masters. His performance under pressure is amazing, because there are so many good golfers out there today, like Retief Goosen, Phil Mickelson and Vijay Singh. To win The Masters back-to-back is impressive. I don't really know Tiger -- I've met him at the ESPYs and asked him to take a picture with me -- but I can tell he's a class guy and a true winner.

The Sacramento Kings and New Jersey Nets deserve credit for winning their respective conferences. Chris Webber has had a phenomenal year for the Kings. As for the Nets, who would have believed coach Byron Scott, GM Rod Thorn and company could put it together to win the East! The addition of Jason Kidd was important, and the Nets have played solid team basketball all season long.

Tim Duncan of the San Antonio Spurs is my choice for NBA MVP. He's been the most consistent player in the league. He doesn't do things in a spectacular fashion, but he wins and gets the job done. He joined a select group by going over the 2,000-point and 1,000-rebound marks this season.

Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling of the Arizona Diamondbacks remain unbeaten, while the Cleveland Indians have been baseball's hottest team.

I can't believe the Milwaukee Bucks are battling this late in the season for a playoff spot. Coach George Karl's team has too much talent with Ray Allen, Glenn Robinson, Sam Cassell and Tim Thomas. Offensively, there's plenty of firepower, but the defense has lacked consistency. I still think the ownership loves Karl.

The Detroit Tigers still haven't gotten a win yet.

What a difference a year makes! Roger Clemens was super a season ago, but so far in 2002 he has struggled. He's 1-2 with a 7.56 ERA.

What's up with Florida Marlins fans? The Marlins drew fewer than 6,000 fans in each of two games last week against Montreal, then drew just more than 12,000 for Greg Maddux and the Atlanta Braves. This is a good, young Marlins team. Maybe baseball should think about contracting them if the fans don't show up.
