The Duke-Maryland matchup was awesome with a capital A, baby! There was emotion, excitement, intensity, and if you just saw the final score, you would have missed something special.
It was unbelievable ... 25 lead changes in the first half. The first 30 minutes were incredible, and then Duke took charge. Two dynamite teams gave it everything they had, but in the end, it was too much Jason Williams, Mike Dunleavy and company.

When (Jason Williams) gets it going, he is unstoppable. He is capable of going on spurts better than any player in America. |

The Blue Devils showed a lot when they responded to a big Maryland run that cut the Duke lead down to three points. That was a very important point in the contest.
There was such great offensive efficiency in the first half. There was incredible passing to get open looks at the basket.
Williams showed his sensational ability, driving to the basket, hitting the trifecta. He was so focused; I've never seen him with more intensity, and he loves special moments like this. When he gets it going, he is unstoppable. He is capable of going on spurts better than any player in America.
Then there was Dunleavy, who came up big in the second half. He did it on both ends of the court, doing a great job defending the passing lanes.
Dahntay Jones was very active, containing All-American Juan Dixon, who went two-of-nine from the floor. Carlos Boozer was also a factor inside.
Duke's ability to make free throws (22-of-27) and Maryland's inability to hit the trifecta were also important.
It was a special night, and it was just the first act of a basketball drama. Will it be another four-act thriller like last season? Stay tuned, baby!
