With Bogans back, 'Cats one of country's best

SPECIAL TO ESPN.COM

June 19
Keith Bogans
Senior Keith Bogans led the 'Cats with 15 points.
Kentucky received some great news when sophomore point guard Keith Bogans decided to pull his name out of the NBA draft. It is the right news. This is an intelligent move, and Bogans' mother is ecstatic because she wanted him to continue his education.

Bogans needs to be more consistent and he can work more on his jump shot. He already is an exceptional penetrator with good offensive skills going to the basket.

His decision to return to Lexington next season gives Kentucky a dynamite 1-2 punch in the backcourt. The pairing of Tayshaun Prince and Bogans will be among the nation's best, up there with: Jason Williams and Chris Duhon of Duke; Frank Williams and Cory Bradford of Illinois; Juan Dixon and Steve Blake of Maryland; Marvin O'Connor and Jameer Nelson of St. Joseph's; Brett Nelson and Teddy Dupay of Florida; and Jeff Boschee and Kirk Hinrich of Kansas.

Wildcats coach Tubby Smith has to be thrilled with the decisions of Prince and Bogans as both withdrew from the NBA draft. Then add Jules Camara, a shot-blocking wizard, plus the other members of the returning cast, and there will be excitement in Lexington.

To me, Kentucky will be so talented that from players No. 1-8, they will be as good as anyone in America.
