Sunday's preview

SPECIAL TO ESPN.COM

When I posed in a Cinderella costume for the Tampa Tribune recently, I had no idea that region would be upset city, baby!

Shock after shock took place Friday at the St. Pete Times Forum. A pair of No. 12 seeds (Villanova and Western Kentucky) and two No. 13 seeds (Siena and San Diego) moved one step from the Sweet 16.

Come on, nobody could have had all four of those stunners, could they?

As I look ahead to Sunday, these four Cinderellas will continue to make dramatic headlines. Jay Wright's Wildcats are led by super soph Scottie Reynolds. I have said it before and I will say it again, guard play is so crucial come tournament time. Reynolds can bury the jump shot, penetrate and dish the rock and lead Villanova to another W.

The Wildcats face a Siena team that dominated against a very good Vanderbilt squad. The Saints did a great job defending the perimeter and they ran the court well in transition. Fran McCaffery has to be proud of his squad as the MAAC champions could go on to the Sweet 16. Kenny Hasbrouck and Tay Fisher showed they can flat out play. This should be an exciting game.

Speaking of excitement, what about Western Kentucky and its overtime thriller against Drake. My friends, it doesn't get much better than the buzzer beater. Tyrone Brazelton had a super game, scoring 33 points, but his biggest play came on the dish to Ty Rogers for the game-winning trifecta. San Diego showed heart and guts in getting past Connecticut in overtime. Which team will find the glass slipper on Sunday?

I am looking forward to the Tennessee-Butler match-up. Brad Stevens has done a great job, leading this squad to 30 wins in just his first season running the show. Butler knows how to play the game and is solid on the perimeter.

The Vols cannot win if Chris Lofton struggles on the perimeter again. He hit just one-of-seven shots from the field against American in the opening round. Tennessee has more pure talent than Butler, though the key to this one will be tempo. The Vols want to run and play the game by scoring in the 90s. Butler wants to play slower and keep it in the 60s.

Georgetown will not have an easy time against Davidson. Stephen Curry scored 40 points against Gonzaga, and John Thompson III will have players keeping an eye on the perimeter to slow the son of former NBA sharpshooter Dell Curry down.

The Hoyas must take advantage of Roy Hibbert in the middle, but playing in Raleigh makes it a little tougher for Georgetown as the fans will be clearly cheering for Bob McKillop's team.

North Carolina and Arkansas figures to be an offensive show. Tyler Hansbrough and company got some rest in the second half of the first-round blowout against Mt. St. Mary's. This one won't be a breather as Sonny Weems, Patrick Beverley and company will be a challenge, but I see the Tar Heels marching on.

Memphis will not have a cakewalk against an experienced Mississippi State squad that rallied against Oregon. Louisville will have to slow down David Godbold, who had a big game in the win over St. Joseph's in the first round.

The Miami-Texas game pits pupil against teacher. Hurricanes coach Frank Haith was an assistant in Austin under Rick Barnes. Jack McClinton put on a show in the first round, scoring 32 points in the second half against St. Mary's. DJ Augustin struggled from the field in the opener but the All-Solid Gold performer should bounce back.

After Sunday, we will have our Sweet 16 set. This year's March Madness is awesome with a capital A! Cinderella will have at least two seats at the Sweet 16 ball, baby!
