SPECIAL TO ESPN.COM

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK:Ryan Anderson, California and Luke Harangody, Notre Dame

It was a big week for the Golden Bears as they swept a road trip to the state of Washington. Anderson put up super numbers, averaging 30 ppg. and 13 rpg. in those wins.

Harangody also averaged 30 ppg and 14 rpg in wins over Providence and DePaul.

COACH OF THE WEEK: John Pelphrey, Arkansas

The Razorbacks entered the week with a 3-2 SEC record. Arkansas responded with blowout league wins over Mississippi State (78-58) and Florida (80-61). In his first season at Fayetteville, Pelphrey has the Razorbacks at 16-5 overall with a pretty solid resume.

TEAM OF THE WEEK:Connecticut

The Huskies continued to play solid basketball, scoring wins over Louisville and Pittsburgh. Connecticut is in the hunt in the competitive Big East! This team has responded to the suspensions of Jerome Dyson and Doug Wiggins (though Wiggins was reinstated and played against the Panthers). Give coach Jim Calhoun credit for motivating this red-hot team.

DIAPER DANDIES OF THE WEEK: Michael Beasley, Kansas State and Kevin Love, UCLA

Beasley keyed Kansas State's upset of Kansas, scoring 17 of his 25 points in the second half of an 84-75 stunner. He had his 17th double-double with 17 points and 10 boards in a surprising loss at shorthanded Missouri.

Love continued his hot play. He had 20 points (nine-of-11 field goals) and 10 boards in just 24 minutes against Arizona State. Love put up a 26-point, 11-rebound performance against Arizona in prime time Saturday night.

SHOCK OF THE WEEK:Penn State over Michigan State

The Spartans came into Happy Valley with a 19-2 record, marking the best start in school history. Penn State entered with a six-game losing streak, with the average margin of defeat of 16.5 ppg. The Nittany Lions scored an 85-76 surprise as Stanley Pringle scored a career-high 19 points. Penn State had decided edges in three-point shooting (nine-of-22 compared to Michigan State's two-of-14) and free throw shooting (34-of-51 to the Spartans' 14-of-21).
