STOCK UP
• Craig Biggio got his 3000th hit while Frank Thomas belted his 500h home run.
• Portland and Seattle did very well in the NBA draft, starting with Greg Oden and Kevin Durant. Both teams also made important trades too.
• Mark Messier, Ron Francis, Al MacInnis and Scott Stevens made it to the Hockey Hall of Fame.
• The Seattle Mariners have won eight straight games, but it was shock city when Mike Hargrove announced his resignation.
• The White Sox are 6-1 in their last seven games.
• The New York Rangers signed Scott Gomez and Chris Drury in free agency.
STOCK DOWN
• The New York Yankees are 2-9 in their last 11 games and are four games below .500.
• The Tampa Bay Devil Rays have fallen on hard times, losing seven straight games.
• The Washington Nationals have also been struggling, losing 11 of their last 15 games.
• Michelle Wie continues to have a tough time, pulling out of the U. S. Women's Open after shooting 17-over-par through 27 holes. Her wrist injury has been a major factor.
