STOCK UP
• The Tigers have won seven in a row after sweeping the Braves.
• Sammy Sosa hit his 600th home run, becoming the fifth member of that illustrious club, joining Hank Aaron, Barry Bonds, Babe Ruth and Willie Mays.
• Ricky Hatton scored an impressive fourth-round knockout of Jose Luis Castillo in a junior welterweight fight.
• Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander in 4-0 with a 1.24 ERA, 35 strikeouts and just 10 walks in his last four starts.
STOCK DOWN
• The Braves have lost five in a row, scoring just one run while batting .150 in those five losses.
• Pac Man Jones just finds trouble. He puts himself into difficult position by being at or near and Atlanta strip club late at night.
• Tank Johnson of the Bears also made the news again for the wrong reasons.
• Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson saw their cars fail inspection before a race in Sonoma, California.
• Astros pitcher Chad Qualls was fined and suspended for poor conduct on the field, throwing a ball into the stands.
• The White Sox were swept by the Cubs and Ozzie Guillen's team scored a total of two runs in the three losses. The Sox are now 5-21 in their last 26 games.
