USC moves up

SPECIAL TO ESPN.COM

December 11, 2006 | Dick's Stock Watch provides a fast-glance review of the past week in the world of sports, charting whose stock is up and whose is down.

STOCK UP

  • LaDainian Tomlinson broke the NFL single-season record for touchdowns, scoring his 29th of the season in a win over Denver.

Troy Smith of Ohio State won the Heisman in a landslide. Darren McFadden finished second while Brady Quinn was third in the voting.

The Phoenix Suns have been on fire, winning 10 straight games. The Suns scored a wild 161-157 win in double overtime vs. the Nets last week.

Notre Dame basketball scored back-to-back wins over Maryland and Alabama in a five-day span.

Willie Parker set a Steelers record with 223 rushing yards in the win over Cleveland.

Roy Williams got his 500th career win and Bob Knight got #877 to pass Adolph Rupp for second all-time in Division I.

Andy Pettitte got a $16 million deal with the Yankees.

    STOCK DOWN

Allen Iverson and the Sixers have seen their situation deteriorating. The Sixers have lost seven straight and sit at 5-14. Iverson has asked for a trade and the team didn't bring him to the last two games.

The Indianapolis Colts were blown out by the Jacksonville Jaguars, who rushed for 375 yards!

Stephen Jackson of the Pacers was thrown off the team's bench over the weekend by coach Rick Carlisle. The claim was conduct detrimental to the team.

The Nets blew an 18-0 lead and lost at home to the Celtics Saturday night.

The Cubs gave Ted Lilly a four-year, $40 million contract. Lilly is 59-58 over his career.

The University of Washington is ending its series with Gonzaga in hoops. Lorenzo Romar's team was beaten in Spokane Saturday night, and it is a shame to see the rivalry end for now.
