Dick's Picks: NBA Draft

SPECIAL TO ESPN.COM

May 25, 2006

Now that the NBA lottery has taken place, it is time to look ahead at my first look at the super seven picks. This is based on different conversations I have had with different scouts and player personnel people, as well as different reports and evaluations.

This is subject to change as we get closer to the draft.

Here is my top seven:

1) Toronto Andrea Bargnani, Benetton (Italy)
Dreaming of being the next Dirk Nowitzki.

2) Chicago LaMarcus Aldridge, Texas
Has size, agility and a world of potential.

3) Charlotte Adam Morrison, Gonzaga
A tough player who is versatile. He will have an immediate impact as a point producer.

4) Portland Brandon Roy, Washington
Nate McMillan is familiar with this multi-dimensional talent. The Blazers will be excited to add him.

5) Atlanta Tyrus Thomas, LSU
Learning to play in five-on-five situation, he possesses many physical attributes.

6) Minnesota Rudy Gay, Connecticut
An athletic transition player with terrific upside.

7) BostonJ.J. Redick, Duke
The Celtics will hit a grand slam and get instant offensive productivity.
