WEEKLY AWARDS

CO-TEAM OF THE WEEK: North Carolina and Arkansas

The Tar Heels have been an amazing story this season. After losing their top seven scorers from last season's national championship squad, few could have expected this club to be among the ACC's elite and a potential top 15 team. Roy Williams' squad had a pair of impressive victories, beating NC State 95-71 and Maryland 81-57.

Arkansas went from a bubble team to one that should be celebrating come Selection Sunday. The Razorbacks rallied from a pair of double-digit deficits to win against quality opponents, getting past Alabama and Tennessee.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Glen Davis, LSU

The Tigers have emerged as one of the best teams in the SEC and Davis came up big against Kentucky, scoring 28 points while grabbing 15 rebounds. For the week, he averaged 22 ppg. And 13 rpg. in wins over the Wildcats and Vanderbilt.

COACH OF THE WEEK: Thad Matta, Ohio State

The Buckeyes were not expected to challenge for the Big Ten title until next season, when Greg Oden leads a great recruiting class to Columbus. Matta's team had other ideas and this squad in the thick of the league race. Ohio State beat Michigan State 79-68 and Michigan 64-54 last week.

DIAPER DANDY OF THE WEEK: Wilson Chandler, DePaul

The Blue Demon had a big week, with 21 points and nine boards in a close loss to Louisville. Chandler had 26 points and 11 rebounds as DePaul knocked off Seton Hall.

SHOCK OF THE WEEK: Virginia over Boston College

The Eagles were struggle city in Charlottesville. Problem is, the Cavaliers expended so much energy that Virginia suffered blowout city Saturday against Clemson.
