Bears, Dolphins complete McNown deal

Aug. 22
The Chicago Bears and the Miami Dolphins completed the Cade McNown deal on Wednesday.

The two sides intensified talks Tuesday and consummated a deal that would send McNown to Miami. The Dolphins and Bears were expected to swap late-round draft picks in 2002, plus the Bears could get conditional draft picks in 2003, depending on McNown's status with Miami.

McNown was the Bears' first-round pick in the 1999 draft and has struggled in his two seasons. In 2000 he completed 154 of 280 passes for 1,646 yards, eight touchdowns and nine interceptions.
