Promoter Don King was hospitalized briefly Tuesday after suffering a head injury during a turbulent flight from Los Angeles, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. King spent Monday in Los Angeles promoting Saturday's heavyweight championship fight between Hasim Rahman and challenger Lennox Lewis. According to the newspaper, the private jet he was flying in with public relations director Alan Hopper and assistants Isadore Bolton and Eric Brown, hit encountered heavy turbulence. King reportedly was tossed out of his seat and hit his head on the ceiling of the aircraft. The force tore the arm off his chair. The Review-Journal said King went to Valley Hospital in Las Vegas to undergo a CAT scan. King told the paper he checked out fine and added he saw five bullets that remain in the back of his head from a 1959 shooting in the CAT scan. A King spokesperson said they were actually shotgun pellets, not bullets. "Being in that plane is like my living room, so I'm just relaxing and I didn't have (my seat belt) on," King said. "Never again. I learned a lesson. That will never happen again." There were no serious injuries with the other passengers.
