ABC's College Football Saturday

No. 3 Oklahoma 38, No. 9 Kansas State 37
Ell Roberson
K-State's Ell Roberson rushed for 3 TDs against OU on Saturday.
Antwone Savage caught touchdown passes of 63 and 75 yards and threw a 33-yard TD pass on a razzle-dazzle fake punt as Oklahoma returned from two weeks off to beat Kansas State 38-37 in Norman and extend its winning streak to 17 games. Nate Hybl withstood a furious Kansas State pass rush to throw for 283 yards and 2 TDs. ABC's Gary Danielson writes that Hybl proved he is a leader. However, as the Sooners prepare for the Red River Shootout, there are holes in the Sooners' armor.

  • Woody Dantzler scored from 11 yards out as Clemson defeated Georgia Tech 47-44 in overtime, leaving just Maryland and Virginia in ACC play this season. The Yellow Jackets were forced to settle for a Luke Manget's 33-yard field goal on their possession in OT after Joe Burns was stopped for no gain on third-and-1 at the 16. Dantzler had a monster game and changed the momentum with his first-half TD run, writes ABC's Ed Cunningham. He completed 18-of-32 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns and led Clemson in rushing with 164 yards on 25 carries.

  • In an unbelievable final 30 seconds, Northwestern improved to 3-0 for the first time since 1962 when David Wasielewski kicked a 47-yard field goal as time expired to beat Michigan State 27-26. The Wildcats had taken a 24-20 lead with 29 seconds left on Kunle Patrick's 10-yard TD reception. But Herb Haygood returned the ensuing kickoff 84 yards to put the Spartans ahead again. However, MSU missed two extra points in the fourth quarter and Jon Schweighardt's 54-yard reception off of a deflection set up Wasielewski's game-winning kick.
